Ironcuffs Training Guide

Ironcuffs are designed to develop grip strength, forearm endurance, wrist stability, and rotational control.

By holding the connected weights and controlling their movement, athletes train the small stabilizing muscles that are critical for combat sports, strength training, and overall upper-body control.

Warm-Up (Important)

Before using Ironcuffs, prepare the wrists and forearms.

Recommended warm-up

* Wrist circles – 30 seconds
* Arm swings – 30 seconds
* Light forearm rotations – 30 seconds

Exercise 1: Rotational Control

This is the core Ironcuffs movement.

How to perform
1. Hold one handle in each hand.
2. Keep your elbows close to your body.
3. Rotate the Ironcuffs slowly left and right.
4. Control the weight instead of letting it swing.

Sets

3 sets × 30 seconds

Muscles trained

* Forearms
* Wrist stabilizers
* Grip

Exercise 2: Controlled Wrist Rolls

This builds strong forearms and wrist endurance.

How to perform
1. Hold the Ironcuffs in front of your body.
2. Rotate the handles using your wrists.
3. Keep the movement slow and controlled.

Sets

3 sets × 12 rotations each direction

Exercise 3: Grip Hold

A simple but powerful exercise.

How to perform
1. Hold the Ironcuffs firmly.
2. Keep them stable without movement.
3. Maintain grip tension.

Sets

3 sets × 30–45 seconds

Muscles trained

* Hands
* Forearms
* Grip endurance

Exercise 4: Front Stability Hold

This trains shoulder and arm stability.

How to perform
1. Hold the Ironcuffs in front of your chest.
2. Keep your arms steady.
3. Prevent the weight from rotating.

Sets

3 sets × 20–30 seconds

Exercise 5: Dynamic Rotations

This adds movement and coordination.

How to perform
1. Hold the Ironcuffs in front of your body.
2. Move them in controlled circular patterns.
3. Keep tension through the wrists and forearms.

Sets

3 sets × 30 seconds

Example 10-Minute Workout

Warm-up — 2 minutes

Rotational Control — 3 × 30 sec
Wrist Rolls — 3 × 12
Grip Hold — 3 × 30 sec
Dynamic Rotations — 3 × 30 sec
